Albergo Il Marzocco

Behind the column there is the Hotel Il Marzocco, the oldest in town. It was built in 1500 as a farm of the nearby convent. In 1860 it became a hotel and since the early 1900s it has been run by the same family. The hotel looks like a large house where the atmosphere of the old times is still kept. Its bedrooms open on wide lounges that, like the reading room and the sitting room, are furnished with genuine XIX century pieces. Some bedrooms have balconies or terraces with a view on the valleys, other ones have their windows over the Renaissance houses of the ald town.

They give a lot of importance at the quality of the raw material of food as well as at the carefulness of the preparing in the kitchen, quite like the local tradition. This is possible because of the own production of poultry and rabbits, the well choice of sausages and the great Pecorini, that are typical for this region.

The Azienda Agraria NOBILE is situated at 1 km from the historical center of Montepulciano in a charming position from which you can admire the old town of Montepulciano, the Valdichiana valley, Lake Trasimeno and the mountains of the Umbro-Marche appennines.

The farm has an area of approximately 10 hectares, of which 5 are vinyard, 2 olive grove and 3 a fruit grove producing exclusive plums, delicious local fruit.

The whole land is considered protected faunistic area, in which hares and pheasants live wild.
