The exhibition, to be held in the Fortress of Montepulciano from 25th May to 8th September 2019, will be the last stage of the three-year exhibition programme dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, who spent some time in this area, carefully studying it. The bird’s-eye map of Valdichiana sketched by Leonardo himself, which excellently represents the core of the exhibition, is a highly stimulating document that helps the audience get acquainted with the evolution of landscape and of the towns in the area, and serves to establish a real connection between the territory and the artist-scientist.The relationship between Leonardo and Valdichiana has been newly brought to light and emphasised by the two exhibitions held in 2017 and 2018.
